Today I forgot my cell phone at home, and I was supposed to contact Greene at some point to say whether I could meet up with him or not. As I walked around, I came across several phone booths and each time I had the same thought: "If only I remembered his number...!" Back in the day I had many memorized: my house, my grandmother's, Darnell's, Paul's, Moham's, Julian's... Now all I've got is my house and cell. The rest I'm drawing a huge blank. Back in the day before I had a cell I used to carry a small address book with everyone's number, but in the age of digital contact lists it seemed rather pointless. I know we all talk about reliance on our phones, but it didn't really hit home how much I've regressed until I stood by that phone booth and sighed wistfully.
