I've mentioned my surprise at the fireplace's lack of heat and talked about it with my neighbor. It turns out pretty much all the heat goes up the chimney, so you need something like a wood-burning stove to push the hot air right back out. I kinda wanna do this because seriously, what the hell is the point of having a fireplace if this shit doesn't warm me up? But seriously, what the hell did people do before these wood stove things? Just be cold all the time even though the fire's right there?
